Holmebeck Huts in North Yorkshire website lacked clarity
and difficult to make bookings
We were contacted by Clare from Holmebeck Huts in early 2024 regarding their website.
Holmebeck Shepherds Hut is a beautiful, secluded Shepherds Hut in North Yorkshire with a hot tub.
They knew their website had a few issues, and she wanted to make improvements to increase the number of bookings made through it.
How It Started
Before doing anything, we performed our free video review of the website to help empower Clare with expert knowledge of her website issues. With experience building websites for holiday cottages, we gave Clare a 10-minute video detailing our recommended changes.
These recommendations included difficulty booking, lack of explicit user action, and site speed.
What We Did
We had to start from scratch which allowed us to customise and ensure everything was built to work perfectly for Holmebeck Huts.
This included using a specialised booking system and customising the details further to match the costs and limits of booking a stay in North Yorkshire.
The website design now has a clear call to action across all the pages. Building from scratch also meant we could optimise the website’s loading speed. Google hates slow websites, and so do we.
Results (so far)
The website has just been live for over three months now, but so far:
- Over 25% increase in bookings in 3 months compared to last year.
- Multiple new keywords in Google Search
- Increased ranking for key search terms
- Tracked results to measure success or failure in the future as it previously wasn’t
